The Scandinavian and Nordic Cultural Association of UBC is hosting it’s 3rd annual Lucia Festival.
Lucia, dressed in white, wearing a crown of candles and followed by her attendants, is an ancient festival of light in the darkness of winter celebrated throughout Scandinavia.
Students representing Lucia and her attendants will perform traditional Swedish songs at the Meekinson Arts Student Space, Buchanan Block D, UBC. Doors are at 4:30pm, and the Lucia procession will begin at 5:00pm and will conclude at around 5:30pm. Lussekatter (sweet saffron buns), coffee and tea will be served.
