Random Acts of Kindness

This is a story my friend Brook posted on his Facebook wall. It definitely warms the heart and inspires one to see the good around you.

RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS. I was taking a walk down Broadway, by Oak when I heard the troubled screams of a child. Glancing across the street, I saw a three or four year old boy being pushed by his mother, in a stroller. He was awash in tears and his mother was trying, in vain, to calm him. At that age it is difficult to tell what a child is saying, even when they aren’t upset. The child did not seem in danger but his wails had attracted the attention of almost everyone for blocks. Then I noticed a young man with a red backpack darting out into traffic. He shucked and jived his way through dangerous afternoon gridlock and scooped up a…… balloon.
