This afternoon, March 29, at 3pm, my niece Euphemia gave birth to a healthy baby boy. We are so excited over this new addition to the family and wish Euphemia and Matt all the best!
I’ll post pictures as soon as I can.

Here are two great YouTube videos for your viewing pleasure. The first is a quick paced, hard driving look at XML and HTML, and human behaviour, check it out or click on the image to link to the page ![]()
The other video is a Barenaked Ladies song performed by fans… it’s really good! check it out, or click on the picture to link to the page ![]()

Composition with Red, Yellow and Blue by Piet Mondrian
Oil on canvas, 1921
In my struggle to understand contemporary/modern art, this quote has given me some insight to the “why” of it. I’m also struggling to come to terms with what I see as the apparent elitism of the “Art World”, but I may explore that in another blog entry.
I like the way the following quote is written: Its language is accessible, it’s unpretentious, and it’s written in a passionate voice…
“Nothing as drastic an innovation as abstract art could have come into existence without a most profound, relentless, unquenchable need… The need is for felt experience – intense, immediate, direct, subtle, unified, warm, vivid, rhythmic.”
- Robert Motherwell, Theories on Modern Art
I hope you like this quote too, and if you previously had no interest in modern art, then perhaps you might be curious now; and if you previously did have an interest, then perhaps you’ll want to explore it deeper. There’s so much to learn!
